"A Day of Fashion," spring art show to benefit La Casa, Saturday, April 22, 10:30 a.m. at the Ramada Palms Resort Ballroom (formerly Holiday Inn), 201 E. University Ave. La Casa provides safe housing and counseling programs for victims of domestic violence and their children plus literacy and mentorship services to families.
Fashions will be presented by Charlotte's Fashions and the Emerald Isle Boutique. The $25 ticket includes admission, a brunch at 11:30, and a thank-you gift. For reservations, call 505-526-2819.
The 12th annual Border Book Festival will be held on April 21 - 23 in Mesilla. The event theme is "Re-Imagining the Border/Re-Imaginado La Frontera" What would happen if we re-imagined our world borders, our concept of who we were and are within our current borders?
The book festival is one of the nation's most unique and well-loved festivals because of the energy and power of its readings, panels, workshops, literary and storytelling events for all ages as well as its trad show, Libros y Mas, that attracts presses, authors, and presenters from throughout the U.S. and Mexico.
