The second annual Ruidoso Chamber Music Festival is scheduled to take place Aug. 4 - 6 in the southern New Mexico mountain resort town of Ruidoso. That's the same weekend as the Alto Artist's tour. So there will be lots of fun things for art and music lovers to do in Ruidoso that weekend.

This year's performers include violinist Timothy Fain and pianist Chu-Fang Huang. The Boston Globe described Fain as "a tall string bean of a fellow with a matinee idol profile, strong musical instincts, and first rate chops."
Chu-Fang Huang, a native of China, was Van Cliburn International Piano Competition finalist in 2005. She has performed throughout China, Europe and the United States, including such venues as the Kennedy Center and

Cellist Zuill Bailey returns to the Ruidoso Chamber Music Festival this year with Three String Virtuosos, performing An Evening of String Trios.
"A string trio is more interesting for a musician than a string quartet," Bailey said. "In a quartet, the violin is the highlight, and the other instruments are secondary. In a trio, all three instruments have a chance to shine."

Baileyña solo performer at last year's festival -- will be joined by violinist Giora Schmidt and violist Kirsten Johnson, both of whom have played with Pinchas Zukerman.
"In honor of Mozart's 250th birthday, we'll be performing the 'Divertimento,' a piece that's hardly ever performed because it's so difficult," Bailey said.
The Ruidoso Chamber Music Festival is presented by the Ruidoso Regional Council for the Arts.
