ENCHANTMENT!
A Gloriously-irreverent Historical Epic with appropriately Stirring Music!
By London Frontier Theatre Company

For Magdalena’s Old Timers Days 2006, London Frontier Theatre is pleased to present the oft-requested return of this stunning saga, elucidating New Mexico’s Prehistoric Past, Origins of the Anasazi, True Sagas of the Trail, and the Great Smithsonite Rush: revisionist history at its most dramatic – and hilarious.

Learn of the Lost Conquistador – and why he was forgotten; the real purpose of General Kearney’s invasion – and how he almost missed New Mexico; how our Great State has evolved from Tyrannosaurus to Terrorist, from Saloon to Salon – all in one-and-a-half hours’ heavy traffic on our Stage.

ENCHANTMENT! is an heroic salute to the West, including Magdalena’s own unique past and present, an interpretation of New Mexico’s colorful history with a modern-media approach: uncovering scandals, making mountains out of molehills, disregarding the serious and celebrating the frivolous, and presenting it all as rip-roaring Epic Entertainment – with, of course, show-stopping songs.

ENCHANTMENT!’s tunes will having you humming along with history, from the rousing “Magdalena!” to the “Politically Correct Tango”, from “Don Cabeza Muy Gordo” to “There is Nothing Like a Potluck”, to the choral masterpiece of pioneer tribulations, “Trail Mix.”

How can a small-but-ambitious rural Theatre Company offer such dramatic scope, such an all-encompassing, uncomparable, incomprehensible vision of history? For your enlightenment and entertainment, return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear, as London Frontier Theatre surrounds you with ENCHANTMENT!

Performers include Diane Allen, Janice Brunacini, Jack Fairweather, Fernando Montano, Donna Todd and Donald Wiltshire. Technical Director Wiltshire has also created the set and lighting

Performances are Friday, July 7th, and Saturday, July 8th, both at 7:00 PM, with a Sunday, July 9th, matinee at 2:00 PM, plus the following Saturday, July 15th at 7:00 PM and Sunday, July 16th at 2:00 PM, all in Magdalena’s historic WPA Gym, on Main between 4th and 5th Streets.
