The Third Annual "DESTINATION SIERRA COUNTY NEW MEXICO" event, a three-day fair highlighting Sierra County’s artistic and cultural diversity, features over 25 studio tours, 13 art galleries, musical and dance performances, booksignings, lectures, craft show, tours, movies, workshops and more.

One of the gala events of the weekend is quite possibly unlike any other affair you’ve attended. The Black Tie Bizarre will be held under the stars on Friday night. A couple of dozen local vendor/artists will bring items to sell, and desserts made by downtown restaurants will be available for tasting. Coffee Tea or C will provide locally-roasted organic coffee. Snacks for the sugar and caffeine sensitive will be on hand as well. Live music and a dance performance by Gracia cap the evening! This event will give shoppers a healthy taste of T or C’s trademark “upscale resale” market.

Attendees are encouraged to venture into the depths of their closets and dig out those dresses and tuxedos they thought they’d never wear again, however, black tie is not mandatory by any means. This is T or C, after all, and the planners of the event expect there’ll be as many tie-dyed t-shirts as there are tuxes, and flip flops will certainly do if your feet refuse to be squeezed into pointy-toed high heels. An assortment of black bowties will be available at the door for those who want to buy a little elegance.

Internationally-renowned jazz singer Chris Callowaywill perform Saturday evening with the Ricky Malichi Trio at 8:30 pm at the Senior Recreation Center, 301 Foch. Doors open at 8 pm; Cost: $8 per person at the door.
