Once upon a time, a million years ago a small group of Magdalena artists all began to share a common "crazy dream". Their dream was that one day in the village of Magdalena they would have an art gallery of their own where their artworks could be displayed and sold without the need for some art middleman to quietly take a share of their sales dollars away from them. Setting out with a single-minded purpose to pursue that seemingly impossible dream, the dedicated artists eventually managed to transform that once "wild-sounding" dream into reality.

"Sunset Wake" by Laurie Taylor Gregg is one of many paintings on display

The fledgling gallery, located at 602 First St, (Hwy. 60) across from Alamo Plumbing, first spread its wings to fly in May 2006. It opened to rave reviews. Later, on June 17th, Magdalena Arts Inc. (the umbrella group for the artists) hosted the gallery's Grand Opening Party. Since then, the new gallery has continued to grow and prosper. At this point it has already spread its wings enough to begin sponsoring its own art shows and events in Magdalena.

Two such art happenings are scheduled in October . They include the Harvest Street Fair October 27, and the Day of the Dead (Dia De Los Muertes) art competition the same day. Magdalena Arts Inc., proudly invites the public to visit their fast-growing eagle in Magdalena and take a close look at their dream-come true!
