Ruidoso Regional Council of the Arts hosts November show
Ruidoso – Sierra Blanca, southern New Mexico’s tallest mountain is a treasure seen in many surrounding communities including Ruidoso, Alamogordo and Lincoln and Otero Counties. It is blessed with some of the most stunning treasures the Land of Enchantment has to offer– tall trees, and open spaces for camping, fishing and winter sports. It is with good reason that this area is known worldwide as New Mexico’s Playground.
Perhaps the greatest treasure that exists in the shadow of Sierra Blanca, is the growing community of amazing creative artists. Hundreds of talented artists live in Rusidoso, Lincoln County, Otero County and the surrounding communities which include the Hondo Valley and Roswell, Alamogordo, Carrizozo, Capitan and Lincoln.
The Treasures of Sierra Blanca art show represents the last and best opportunity of the year to see, enjoy and buy the creative works of dozens of New Mexico’s most talented artists. Sponsored by the Ruidoso Regional Council for the Arts (RRCA), the show will be held at the Ruidoso Convention Center, Friday, Nov. 24 from noon – 8 pm and Saturday, Nov. 25, from 10 am to 8 pm.
Participation in the Treasures of Sierra Blanca Art Show is open to RRCA members and non-members alike. Local artists and their works are the focus of this show. However, registration is not limited to artists from the Ruidoso area. The dead-line for entry in the show is Oct. 11.
For more information call Victoria Mauldin, Painter and Show Coordinator 505-257-7272.
