A painter is a painter, right? And once you've looked at a few hundred paintings or similar works of art, you begin to sense that paintings are like a snapshot -- a moment in time captured in the artist's eye and lovingly reproduced on canvas, paper or wood for others to enjoy as they pass by in their journey down life's highway.

Somehow, that's not quite true with Sharon Adamy's art. When you look at one of her lively pastels, you get the feeling that if you look back a moment or two later the walkers will be just a bit further away down the path or the swinging golfer will be wandering down the fairway looking for that ball he just struck. In short, Sharon's paintings seem to be in motion -- albeit perhaps slow motion -- and you get the feeling that the motion you sense will continue after you turn your back and look away.

Someone described this as Sharon being able to convey "kinetic energy" in her art. They attributed it to the way she uses layers of strokes to "bring her paintings to life". Perhaps that's her secret. But we suspect Sharon has used some form of artistic magic to slow a video w-a-y down so that if you come back tomorrow you'll find that golfer in a different spot and ready to hit his ball a second time...

We believe you'll find Sharon's impressionist art interesting and fun. We promise you'll also find it colorful. And whether you buy a piece or not, you're sure to wonder tomorrow what those walkers saw when they finally turned that corner! To arrange a private viewing of Sharon Adamy's work, she can be contacted at sadamy@valornet.com or 505-336-7707... That is if she didn't leap into one of her own artworks after we left and run off with one of those golfers she seems to enjoy painting so much!
