<font size=3>Mountainair – Cibola Arts Gallery is offering many fine gifts for the holiday season with their “Holiday Show” opening Saturday, Dec. 2nd. There will be an opening reception at the gallery all day with hot cider and homemade cookies, and the show will run through Dec. 31st. While all 19 Cibola artists will be represented, this show features Christmas Expressions artist, Barbara Montgomery. <br><br>Barbara Montgomery is a talented painter and craftswoman. She shows a large display of Christmas decorative items that she sells all year round, including numerous portraits of Old Saint Nick which will be on display as well as her gourd ornaments.</font><br><br><table width=100%><tr><td valign=top><font size=3>Guest artists Dana and Karen Robbins’ will exhibit hand-blown glass hummingbird feeders and glass ball ornaments; Guest artist Chris Tegard offers exotic wood turned wine bottle tops, pens, and pencils. A third guest artist, Rose Smith, creates finely crafted Native American jewelry.<br><br>The other artists in the cooperative are:<font size=3>
Terry Grate, wood burned and hand painted gourd ornaments; and wood burned functional art;
Addie Draper, nationally known pastel artist renowned for her breathtaking impressionistic and abstract landscapes and architectural paintings in vibrant colors available in originals, giclee prints, and greeting cards. Plus sustainably produced soaps, hand lotions, pine needle baskets, and wreaths;
Ann Adams, nature photographer, featuring wildflowers, and unique landscapes in both framed art and greeting cards; and wood turned bowls;
Anne Ravenstone, beeswax hand-dipped candles and tinwork incorporated with weathered wood;
Mary Schultz well-known for her beaded jewelry incorporating carved and silver pieces from Bali that Mary has incorporated into her beaded necklaces and earrings;
Ron Minnick, sculptor working in wood, bronze and alabaster; miniature sculptures, life-size male and female busts;
Doris Burton-Minnick, pottery, fused glass and wire wrap jewelry, raku, ceramic teapot bird houses, ceramic toad houses, and glass window decorations;
Marilyn Conway, fine art photography in giclee prints and greeting cards; hand-painted Silver Gelatin photographs reminiscent of Andrew Wyeth, executed in editions of 25;
Meg Chobanian, the newest member of Cibola Arts, traditional and contemporary quilts, decoupage art and greeting cards;
Dennis Ziegler, abstract and representational artist working in oils, acrylics, ink, and artist markers;
Robert Morales offers playable art in the form of hand painted electric guitars;
Jude Wasechek, well-known New Mexican potter, functional bowls and platters, masks and decorative pottery in the Raku technique;
Timothy Wyllie, crafted and thoughtful “symbolist” graphics in colored pencil drawings in framed and unframed giclee prints;
Lore Wills, weaver, unique shawls.
Shirley Simmons, plein air painter whose oil paintings are striking depictions of Southwest landscapes. A long-time member of the gallery, Shirley is now exhibiting as a guest artist.
John Davidson’s work is represented in numbered and limited edition prints. A professional artist and teacher, John was one of the original founders of the Cibola Arts Gallery. After John’s death, his son Jess Davidson, continues to offer John’s prints in beautiful handmade frames.
