Standing at the corner at 200 S. Gold Ave in Deming, Galeria 200 is a lovely new gallery in a meticulously restored old building that has obviously been there for decades but never really stood out until Richard and Lyn Orona made it the home of Galeria 200 a while back. Walking through the door of that venerable old structure today, even a casual observer can see that building couldn't have looked better back when it was brand new than it does now. The signs of tender loving care are visible everywhere from the beautifully restored hardwood floors to the lovely art-deco-style ceiling.
Once you get over the initial shock of seeing that space restored so beautifully, you'll next notice that beautiful art surrounds you on all sides. Indeed Galeria 200 features the artistic creations of over two dozen artists and all of it is as tastefully displayed as the art in the world's top galleries.
You're going to love this unique small gallery which Richad claims is the product of years of dreaming and planning and hard work on his and Lyn's part. Frankly, we wonder if Richard might be fibbing a bit. The place is so well done it's easier to believe some bored "art fairy" came along inthe middle of the night when Richard and Lyn were sleeping and waved her magic wand to make everything in this gallery just about perfect. But no matter what you personally conclude about Galeria 200, we can't imagine you won't fall in love with what Richard and Lyn (and their art-loving fairy) have done. It's a lovely place and whoever did all that work -- not to mention created all that beautiful art -- did a really fine job.
