Growing, Changing and Getting Better Every Day
Steppin’ Out’s web support team has been busy this winter doing what they do best. Ever since cold weather set in, our web guys have been working hard on new projects. Here's some of what they've been up to...

Gair Linhart of La Joya is a busy musician, artist, poet, novelist and composer who dares to dream BIG dreams! As founder of New Mexico’s Special Orchestra®, a non profit that helps kids and adults with disabilities share in the joy of making music, host of Steppin Out’s Poets Corner Blog, and an active and popular songwriter and performer Gair is an old friend of Steppin Out. Still, when he asked us to build his dream site last summer, we had no idea how vivid and sophisticated Gair’s dreams actually were.
The first CameoSite(SM) we built for Gair was a temporary dwelling designed to give us the time to build his dream site. That site has now grown into a dual-domain e-commerce equipped site featuring Gair’s Poetry (over 60 poem songs), plus selling both his music (on CD and via instant MP3 downloads) and his Framed Art Prints, in an easy-to-use site that shows what’s possible for artists on the web these days all at a reasonable cost. Did we mention Gair’s site also features two music videos?
Don’t take our word about Gair’s site. Drop by and visit www.Gair88.com (http://www.gair88.com/). We promise that enjoying his beautiful poetry set to music will make you proud he calls New Mexico home!
Next came a major face-lift for The Western Motel and RV Park’s site in Magdalena. The Western’s site was a few years old and starting to show its age. Yet like many of our web clients, the owners of the picturesque and comfy adobe and knotty pine hotel had bills to pay. So, controlling costs was high on their agenda. Plus they were comfortable with their site and didn’t want to tear it down and start over as other web developers had suggested.
That’s where our web team came in. The face lift took just a few weeks and the result is a great-looking site The Western’s owners are proud of. They invite you to drop in at www.TheWesternMotel.com (http://www.thewesternmotel.com/) to see what they achieved on a limited budget.
Another new web project called for rebuilding the CameoSite(SM) owned by a San Antonio gallery that recently closed to feature the artists of Galeria Del Bosque instead. That way, painter Brazillia and wood artisan Clark Fischer of Galeria Del Bosque could reap the benefit of publicity and traffic generated by the former owner without the cost of new development and get a new site at the cost of a facelift.
The end result is an attractive small site that’s already producing new traffic and sales for Galeria Del Bosque. The artists seem quite happy with the result. You can see the new site and enjoy the art of Brazillia and Clark Fischer by visiting www.BosqueArt.com (http://www.bosqueart.com/).
In addition to all those projects, our web team also built a new CameoSite(SM) for Emmerich Hale the 12 year old lad from New Zealand who won our Poets Corner Halloween Poetry Blog contest. Em's www.VerminHorde.com (http://www.verminhorde.com/) includes a custom home page, his personal blog, a private forum where visitors can post, a photo gallery and a links page. At the same time, our team also created www.ThePlazaCafe.net (http://www.theplazacafe.net/) for a restaurant on Socorro's plaza. That site includes a home page, a photo gallery, a menu page, and a links page.
Finally, our developers made several improvements to the Steppin' Out site as well. Have you noticed our revamped news page yet? Its format has changed. It's better organized now too with similar feeds from different sources grouped together on the page. While making those changes, we also expanded our state, national and global news coverage in our ongoing effort to make Steppin' Out the best and only news source you'll ever need.
The Christian Science Monitor,
