A reception with refreshments is open to the public on June 15, 3-7 PM at the Old Mill on Sudderth in Ruidoso. Art enthusiasts can meet the artists and see examples of their work during the reception.

A special feature this year is the display of art created by some of the best high school art students.

The Old Mill is an historic building, erected in 1868, and is still used to grind corn. It is becoming a favorite site for gatherings because of the unique atmosphere of the adobe building.

Some members of Art in the Pines belong to the Ruidoso Regional Council for the Arts, which provides them with the opportunity to exhibit in the annual Treasures of Sierra Blanca Art Show in December and the fun mARTi-gras each February. In addition, some of the members display their work in the numerous galleries of Lincoln County.

Art is fast becoming one of the major reasons to visit this beautiful summer and winter resort area in the pines.

Witt">Three years ago, a small group of artists living in Ruidoso and Ruidoso Downs gathered together with Sherry L. Witt to form a group that would exhibit their fine art creations. The group has now grown to 27 members, and holds several yearly exhibits.

Brochures with maps are available at the Ruidoso Valley Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center, the Ruidoso Regional Arts Council (rrcarts@valornet.com (rrcarts@valornet.com)) and from downtown merchants.
