The Geronimo Springs Museum will hold their annual Fiesta open house on Sunday, May 6th where there will be live music, arts and crafts demon-strations and taco bar. The museum will be open 11am-4pm. Admission is free.
The history of the Truth or Consequences Fiesta goes back to April 1, 1950. Ralph Edwards and his entire NBC production, acting and show crew came to rename “Hot Springs,” New Mexico “Truth or Consequences.” They aired the first live, coast-to-coast broadcast of the game show Truth or Consequences from the City of Truth or Consequences. The residents of Edwards’ adopted home are very pleased to say that he came back every year (until his health prevented him from traveling), with his Hollywood friends to celebrate the name change with a Fiesta, and to help spread the news about this oasis of hot springs. In memory of Ralph Edwards who passed away last December, the city of T or C proclaimed April 1st to be Ralph Edwards’ Day.
