Alamogordo, NM - Located in the Wild West Antiques, Collectibles and Crafts Mall at 1160 Hwy 70 W in Alamagordo (on the West side heading towards Holloman Air Force Base) artist Dawn Cheney brings together a mixture of old and new in her booth #A2. The booth is one of the most spacious and prime locations in the building. You see it straight ahead when you walk in the door. Dawn has brought together a delectable array of eclectic items from her personal journeys around the world and her own considerable talent as an artist.

Ms Cheney’s work encompasses a unique transformational quality that seems to be present in all of her art, jewelry and silk floral arrangements, which she explains are totally guided by spirit. Her background in business and alternative healing has given her a unique perspective in her art. Adding to her experience earlier life in the worlds of banking, computers, retail, marketing, health and later as an energetic healer and spiritual counselor the artist harmonizes a diverse understanding blended into her transformational artwork.

Asked to explain her art and style, Dawn says, "Transformation, or change, is the true aspect of our soul and spirit. It brings to light with it realms of new knowledge and different perspectives. By mixing classical and abstract shapes and the use of varying colors it speaks to our conscious and unconscious mind in a whole new way. Our brains understand at a higher level the meaning of these shapes and colors and can identify how to use them without our having to study every element in great detail. The shifts in perception and awareness are there for the willingness to open your mind and enjoy the shapes and colors as they speak to you personally."

Cheney's floral arrangements are small and inexpensive enough to encourage shoppers to buy them as gifts and spur of the moment inspirations for friends, loved ones and acquaintances. In discussing these works, Dawn explained that she enjoys buying flowers, real or silk, for her hotel room when she is out of town and leaving them in the room for the hotel staff at the end of her stay. It’s refreshing to know that giving spirit.

Dawn's jewelry is of made of high quality bead and findings of all types. Using inspiration and spirit as a guide she designs from the knowledge of the materials themselves. Other items in the booth are old and new from Egypt, Spain, Peru, China, USA and various other travels on her own throughout the world. Everything is reasonably priced and beautifully made with love and inspiration of spirit.

For more information about Dawn Cheney and her art, readers can visit her booth at Wild West Antiques and Collectibles Mall, or call: 505.437.3896.

We recommend this spirit-guided artist and her lovely art as being highly worthy of your time and consideration.
