The Daedalus Quartet performs Aug. 4 at 8 p.m. Taking its name from the mythical Greek inventor who created wings that allowed him to fly, the quartet was founded in 2000. For the past two years they have been the string quartet in residence for the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. The Washington Post said, "The Daedalus Quartet seems to fly not on wings of waxy feathers, but rather on jet-propelled rockets of blistering virtuosity."
