Country-Western singer Jack Jackson performs at Socorro’s Macey Center for a pre-Rio Abajo Days warm-up. His “Echoes of Legends” concert will continue on Thursday night at 7 and he’ll perform throughout the weekend. Jack Jackson’s country music show is entertaining and versatile. His musical repertoire facilitates the driving rhythms of 50’s rock and roll as well as the new dance steps of today’s “country music dance market”. Jack’s repertoire includes cover tunes that span 50 years of country music, enhanced also with his original material. His warm smooth vocals will melt your heart during a ballad, inspire your soul during a gospel song, and set your feet to dancing with the new country sounds of today. Jack and his wife, Debbie, along with their two sons, Clint and Ben, can be found with other members of his band, J.R.B., in venues such as fairs, jamborees, and rodeos.
Also for kids of all ages there is a Petting Zoo and Carnival. For the athletic minded, there is a Marathon, 5K Race and Bike Tour on Sunday. Food Booths, an Arts & Crafts Show, and an 1890’s gourmet Dutch oven prepared outdoor dinner round out the fun.
This event is held at the Sheriff Posse and Fair Grounds in Belen, NM (I-25 exit # 195). Entry for one day or the entire weekend: Kids 12 and under is Free; Over 12 is $5.
