Old Lincoln Prepares for Arts in the Orchard Festival
By Rosalyn Stevenson - Steppin' Out Area Representative
Lincoln, NM - Relax, you've been working too hard. Join friends for a slow drive through rolling hills where wildflowers bloom along the roadside, birds and butterflies cavort and fly across your path as you meander through peaceful landscape.
End your journey at a large outdoor gathering where home baked apple and berry pies made from fruit grown within a few miles are being served. Music plays softly and people are smiling and taking it easy under turquoise skies as gentle breezes play in the golden sunlight.
You've arrived at Arts In The Orchard, Lincoln County, New Mexico. Sit on the grass; eat apple, blueberry, blackberry, boysenberry or raspberry pie. Go ahead, lie down. Laugh like you used to as you gaze up at white clouds and Mark Remington plays guitar and sings softly.
Who will win the pie contest this year? Will it be Gerald Stumpf again? The boy who invented MallowBerry Pie? Or will it be someone you know who has baked his or her best recipe for the pie contest?
You can vote after you enjoy the displays of gems, paintings, crafts. And have another piece of pie.
