Ballonists Descend on Socorro for Late Fall Rally

The annual Socorro Balloon Rally the weekend after Thanksgiving (November 24 and 25) is attracting more and more hot air balloons each year. The weekend-long event includes two mass ascensions (Saturday and Sunday) with balloons launching (weather permitting, of course) by about 7 am. Spectators are invited onto the field to get up close for the best viewing. That evening, many balloons will participate in the popular Christmas Candy Cane Electric Light Parade.
