There are many places in New Mexico that feature and sell art. And there are even quite a few galleries that market the art of one or two fine artists. But if you're looking for a place to see great art from six or eight major New Mexico artists, Ran La Roca Glass in Lincoln is the place and November 23 is the date to remember.
Randy and Rhonda Dougherty and their son, Craig, keep the traditions of American craft alive in their studio, adjacent to their gallery, which is housed in one of Lincoln County’s oldest buildings.
Developing their style of working with glass over a period of nearly two decades, the Dougherty’s have plowed new ground in the field of contemporary glass art. Galleries abundantly seek after their creations. The Art Institute of Chicago has purchased their work since 2003. They currently have pieces under consideration for induction into the Smithsonian Museum.
On Friday, Nov. 23, the Ran La Roca Gallery will host an evening of food and drink and will present not only colorful, contemporary glass work and metal and glass sculptures for viewing, but will also present the work of other of the area’s most interesting and outstanding artists.

Ms. Ancker is renowned as a gifted teacher of ceramics. Her clay studio has been the learning ground for many of the clay artists of Lincoln County and beyond. Her work is inspiring and covers the gamut from whimsical to powerful.
Ann Templeton is one of Lincoln County and New Mexico's most respected and popular living artists -- not to mention one of the most prolific! Her beautiful paintings have been actively sought by savvy art collectors from around the world for years. As a result, even small and relatively obscure pieces of Ann's art tend to command high prices. Several pieces of her art will also be in this show.

Roger Archibald is an award winning artist who will be showing some of his beautifully wrought pencil drawings, and his work will definitely add to the wonders of this gathering.

Craig is in the process of developing his own glass blowing studio. It will be the only studio of its kind between Lincoln County and Santa Fe, and as such is awaited with excitement and anticipation by the arts community.
