Magdalena, New Mexico – Back by popular demand, Peppers Gallery is once again holding its annual Cowboy Christmas Celebration. The event was officially launched this year on October 6th and 7th with a wine and cheese reception. Again this year, the gallery - located just west of the Magdalena Post Office - invited other artists and vendors to set up in their spacious lot. and about a dozen local artists and artisans spent those days peddling their own wares under awnings.
As in past years, this two month long arts and crafts sales event will continue until December 22 this year with various events planned throughout the period.
“People started calling and asking about Cowboy Christmas, so I decided to do it again,” says owner Marky Bamert. Inside the gallery, dozens of artists and crafters are represented in the two-story home turned gallery. The rooms are chock full of gifts from Navajo jewelry, pottery and rugs to exquisite new photography by Pietown artist Peggy Lloyd, artwork by Warren Smart, Jo Knoblock Castillo and others. Carved birds by Bill Strickler and exquisite wooden furniture; metal art, stained glass and miniature Christmas trees along with ornaments and window hangings.
