Popcorn ropes, paper chains, piñatas, hot cider, cookies and carolers. Remember these?
They were all a part of many an old-fashioned Christmas celebration. You can once again experience these seasonal joys when the Partners for Preservation and the Lincoln town merchants present “An Old Fashioned Christmas” on Saturday, December 8th and Sunday, December 9th in Lincoln, from noon to 4 pm daily.
Old time western dress of the 1880’s is encouraged, so dust off your long skirts and cowboy shirts and hats, wrap a shawl around your shoulders, or don a rugged buckskin and come on down. Prizes will be given for the best costumed man, woman, boy and girl.

Maps will be available at all nine merchants in town. You’ll be given a sticker at each of the merchant sites you visit and if you collect all nine you can turn in your map with the stickers on it at the Curry Restaurant and you’ll be eligible to win one of the several door prizes offered. </td></tr></table>
Each of the merchants in town will offer free refreshments when you visit and you can enjoy breakfast and lunch at either the famous Curry or the historical Wortley Hotel. Dinner will be served by reservation at the Ellis store, where a gourmet meal will cost only fifteen dollars.
Phone 505-643-4609 for reservations.
Historical tours will be offered daily by Drew Gomber and Pearl Tippin will offer a tour featuring stories about the local ghosts, the Lincoln Ghost Tours.
<table border=0 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=3><tr width=100%><td>The Dolan house will have piñatas and Pearl Tippin will do story telling there throughout the two days. You can pick up old fashioned post cards there, sign them and leave them for a local VFW representative to pick up and send off to the people serving in the military overseas.
As if that isn’t enough, musicians will serenade you along on your stroll through the town.
There will even be a church service at the historic San Juan Batiste adobe church at 1:00 pm on Sunday, as well as ornament making and other activities at the Community Church.
There is certainly something for everyone offered in these two days of celebration. An old fashioned Christmas in the historically preserved town of Lincoln……we hope to see you there. Call: 505-653-4614 for further information.
