Ruidoso, NM – February is New Orleans’ premiere party season, but if you can’t make it all the way to Louisiana come to Ruidoso.
Ruidoso Regional Council for the Arts will be hosting its 4th Annual “mARTi Gras Celebration” February 16th, 2007.
The frame of mind in the Big Easy is to “forget your problems and have some fun” and we feel the same way. mARTi Gras is a celebration of the arts, from live music and art auctions to creative mask and gumbo competitions, there is always fun for the whole family. Local artist will be showing their talents in all forms. This year the live band will be Earl and the Dynamics playing both Dixie Land and tunes to dance the night away.
Up to 15 Gumbo competitors from all over south central New Mexico and West Texas will be cookin’ up the tastiest gumbo this side of the Mississippi.
Put on your favorite party shoes and come on over, the festivities are from 6:00 to 10:00 pm at the Ruidoso Convention Center 111 Sierra Blanca Drive. Free gift bags for children 12 and under! Adult tickets are $10; children (12 and under) are $4; and a family of 5 can get in for $30.
All proceeds will fund the Ruidoso Regional Council for the Arts, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting all disciplines of the arts in Ruidoso and Lincoln County, New Mexico.
