Truth or Consequences, New Mexico – T or C is going green this year for its 59th annual Fiesta with the theme “Go Green!”
Fiesta “season” kicks off April 6 with the annual Ralph Edwards Day and evening banquet, followed by a whole month of activities leading up to the May 2-4 Fiesta.

The “Go Green! Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rejoice!” theme will be recycled and reused in dozens of ways during festival weekend with contests and competitions for creative recycling. The Fiesta weekend begins with a Fiesta Idol Karaoke Sing-Off at 6:30 at Ralph Edwards Park.
Re: cycles: Decorate your bicycle for the Saturday parade. Or enter the Best Recycled Costume contest. Or decorate your car. The 10 am parade is always a delight to watch as the community comes out in force to enjoy the day.
There’s even a Fiesta Junk Boat Race – a tradition with a highly competition bent. It’s sure to be fun to watch. Junk boats must be made out of homemade or recycled materials – pipes, Styrofoam, beer cans, etc...but absolutely no boat parts, screws, or nails! Paddling must be done with arms or oars; anything mechanical is not allowed. The race will begin at the Cuchillo Street Bridge east of town at 1 pm on Saturday; the finish line is at Ralph Edwards Park.
The Fiesta continues Saturday afternoon and evening and on Sunday with music and live entertainment at Ralph Edwards Park. Vendors will sell food, arts and crafts and memorabilia.
Other activities include rodeo, skateboard contest, spam and salsa contests, rubber duck race, basketball and golf tournaments and more.
