Carrizozo NM – Come and listen to some great music while relaxing in the shade away from the hustle and bustle of daily commerce. Music in the Parks gives visitors and residents of Carrizozo and surrounding areas a relaxing Sunday afternoon listening to good music – for free. Just bring a chair and your own lunch and soft drinks and enjoy the day.

The first, May 4th, was a resounding success. The next is scheduled for June 1 at 2 pm. at Valle del Sol Gazebo, Hwy 380 E. Well known Ruidoso band, Rich Chome Blues Band will provide the music. Shade tents will be up.

On June 22, the Town of Carrizozo is sponsoring the 44th Army Band, New Mexico National Guard. This is a very special performance for Lincoln County: A salute to the Military Men and Women and Veterans who all will be welcomed guests. The band performance starts at 1pm at Spencer Park. Parking is available at the park off Hwy 380 W. and 8th street by the recreation center. “You don’t want to miss this opportunity to hear the whole band 45 men and women and their wonderful performance,” says organizer Fran Mack. “The whole band has only performed once here in Carrizozo and Lincoln County, I think in about the last 4 or 5 years. The band is from Allbuquerque but the members live all over the state.” Again bring chairs, etc. Shade Tents will be up.

July 20th will be at Chavez Park - featuring a young people’s Blue Grass Band - Manzano Mountain Dream Band. Then on August 17th at McDonald Park will be Lanny Maddox - Indian Flutes and Fred Kinnan and Tim Rice - Soft Jazz. These concerts start at 2 pm.

There are no vendors at any of the performances.
