This March owner/artist Barbara Versluis will hold a special show of her own works.

As part of the festivities, an original painting “west of Madalena,” will be given away.

“I'm painting like mad to have new paintings ready for my March Show,” said Versluis. “I've been drawing or painting since I could grasp whatever would make marks. When I started school I got hold of crayons and paper and my world was a better place after that.

“My favorites now are water-based oil paints and chalk pastels but I've worked in all media and sometimes go back and try others again,” she said. “I like to do cartooning too, and have a line of horse cartoons that I print on t-shirts. I also enjoy making twisted wire and wire sculpture jewelry using local stones that I cut and polish. Sometimes I make pottery but haven't been doing much of that lately.

“I need exercise too and love to be outdoors so I try to ride my horses as often as possible. I never get bored!” said this energetic lady.

Come see her landscapes, florals and maybe some new horse drawings and experience her delightful sence of humor.
