Bosque, NM – Come to the Bosque – Bosque with a Capital B – this year for the Spring Poetry Festival hosted and moderated by SoNewMex.com’s poetry blog host Gair Linhart.
Once again Gair has lined up impressive and impassioned poets for a evening of pure puckish pleasure. This year’s festival will be Saturday, May 16 beginning at 4:30 pm at Pizza Rio. Don’t be intimitated by the new venue, Pizza Rio is a delightful place just minutes south of Belen or north of Bernardo on Hwy 116. As the name implies, the restaurant offers pizza and Italian foods, coffees and other light refreshments and hosts a number of music and literary events.
On Saturday, May 16, bring your own poetry to share or just come to listen. Some of these poets you’ll remember from last year’s poetry festival: Rebecca Guile Hudson Out of Cullen Street (A House of Madness), George Forrest Echoes with a Western Air, Barbara Dubois Country Style and Shirley Blackwell, poetry columnist with the Valencia County News Bulletin, and Gary Stewart Chorre.
The evening’s star is Sal Treppiedi who will read from his new book Random Thoughts of an Obese Mind at 6 pm.
