Prairie designed this picture when she was 17. Now 19, she recently returned from a year as an exchange student in Brazil. She is the daughter of Don Kearney and Nita Larronde of Pietown. Nita is a frequent contributor and supporter of Steppin Out and creates cards, place mats and pictures with pressed flowers in the Floral Aloha series.

This month’s featured artist is Ronna Kalish. Kalish, who directs the New Mexico Tech Performing Arts Series and heads the non-profit state-wide promoters group, also sings, plays several musical instruments and write songs.
