The Capitol Steps Bring Political Humor to Popejoy Hall
Albuquerque, New Mexico - Capitol Steps brings political satire to Popejoy Hall on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 8pm. The show comes to New Mexico as part of Popejoy Presents sponsored by Lovelace Health Plan and Sandia Casino.

The Capitol Steps began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them. In the years that followed, many of the Steps ignored the conventional wisdom ("Don't quit your day job!"), and although not all of the current members of the Steps are former Capitol Hill staffers, all together the performers have worked in a total of eighteen Congressional offices and represent 62 years of collective House and Senate staff experience.

Since they began, the Capitol Steps have recorded 26 albums, including their latest, I'm So Indicted. They've been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS, and can be heard four times a year on National Public Radio stations nationwide during their Politics Takes a Holiday radio specials.
Capitol Steps has gained popularity among people of all ages with clever parodies of current and well-known songs. From songs like “Here’s to You, Reverend Robertson,” to “God Bless My SUV,” Capitol Steps manages to incite laughter everywhere they go.

Tickets for Capitol Steps are $34, $29, $26 and $20 Patrons may purchase tickets through unmtickets.com online, by calling 925-5858 or (877) 664-8661.
