Classes at the Maple Street Dance Studio
1.Joseph Gonzalez will be teaching the Tuesday night class for the next three Tuesdays. The dates he will be subbing the class are March 6,13 and 20. He will be teaching ballroom rumba.
Joseph has studied with ballroom masters from around the world and took 1st place in the Las Vegas Holiday Classic last fall in the cabaret division. He currently performs with the New Mexico ballet, has studied flamenco for 14 years and also performs with a belly dance company. This is a great opportunity to study with a fabulous teacher who knows a lot about dance. 8 pm beginning class 9 pm intermediate. All classes held at Maple Street Dance Space 111 Maple St SE $10 for one class/ $15 for both classes in the same evening.
2. Eric Johnson who came to Albuquerque to teach a rueda workshop about a year and a half ago will be here again on March 31 and April 1. He will be teaching two workshops: 1. "Casino Basics" and 2. the "Latest Moves from Cuba."
Eric has studied extensively in Cuba where he attended the National Arts School for a year and performed rueda on Cuban national television. He now teaches rueda and casino classes in San Diego All the proceeds for this workshop will go to the Rueda Film Project. Eric is now co-producing this project and along with the classes we will take some time to show some photos from our latest trip to Cuba to work on the film. Times and locations to be announced.
