Patti Miller is hosting her 8th Annual Workshop Weekend with the stars in Albuquerque, NM, April 20-22. Dancers from all across the country attend this annual event - if you've never attended, please plan to join us this year to see what you've been missing.
~~ FRIDAY NIGHT KICK-OFF DANCE - The event starts Friday, April 20th at 6pm at Graham Central Station, 4770 Montgomery NE, hosted by the Albuquerque Swing & Country Dance Club (AS&CDC). Pre-registration packets can be picked up here. Note: Graham's offers a free buffet 5-7pm - or until gone! $5 cover starts at 7pm.
~~ WORKSHOPS SATURDAY & SUNDAY - Learn from the best! 10 workshops to choose from, beginning to advance, in WCS, Cha Cha, Hustle, Night Club and C&W 2-Step (plus 4 basic level classes at $8 ea). All workshops held at the spacious Albuquerque Square Dance Center (ASDC), 4915 Hawkins NE. (Limited privates available.)
~~ SATURDAY NIGHT DINNER SHOW & DANCE at the Sandia Casino Resort Hotel (505-796-7500), 30 Rainbow Rd, at 7pm (dance only 9:30pm). Note: Lunch available both days during the workshops but you must pre-register.
~~ SUNDAY EVENING POST-DANCE & Pizza Party sponsored by the AS&CDC. All profits from this dance will be donated to the National MS Society... so please plan to stay over and dance on a huge 6000 sq ft wooden floor in a no smoke/no alcohol facility. SPECIAL: WCS workshop with Yvonne & Jason included. Refreshments. The dance will start after the workshops at 6pm at the workshop location, ASDC. Admission: $3 for dancers showing their DBYC weekend badge; $10 general; $6 AS&CDC
~~ HOTEL - Hampton Inn Hotel (next door to workshop location, 5101 Ellison NE). Rate $69 per night (Thur - Sun). Includes continental breakfast. Room block will be held until 4/05/07. Reserve your room now (mention DBYC). 505-344-1555
~~ REGISTRATION (mail in up until 4/11/07) - The Early Bird Special of $110 ($142 value) ends March 31st and must be postmarked 3/31/07. The special rate includes 10 workshops, 2 lunches, dinner show and dance. (A Raffle will be held on Sunday during lunch - place your bids on LOTS of great items donated by the dance community - let us know if you have something you'd like to donate!).
