The rules of the road...

<HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Welcome, Friends!

We intend to impose as few rules as possible in these forums. After all, we assume we're mostly adults here. So we're not going to try to tell you how to behave or what to say or not say. However, we do want to make it clear that the normal societal rules of civility, common courtesy and respect do apply here. As such we expect you to behave like mature and responsible citizens would in any public forum.

With that in mind, we want to encourage open discussion and lively debate. But we will NOT tolerate flames or name calling or unnecessary vulgarity or foul language. What that means is that while we expect things may get heated at times, we will not sit still and watch belittling or demeaning comments or remarks aimed at any member here. We expect our visitors to behave like mature and responsible adults would in any normal social forum.

From YOUR perspective this means that all guns and deadly weapons must be checked at the door, fist fights are not allowed here and mud slinging or breaking up the furniture won't be tolerated either. We do expect respectful language but will not censor occasional strong words just because you choose to say them.

You are not children and we will not treat you as such. So, referring to someone as a "hell of a guy" is certainly okay. And in some circumstances, even saying "there's no damned way" might be appropriate too. However, calling someone "an idiot" (even if it's true!) or suggesting they "go to hell" crosses the line into unacceptable behavior. Similarly, making a nuisance of yourself by spamming our forums or posting the same dumb message over and over again does the same thing.

We are not here to be your censors or your mom or your nanny either. But if you DO cross the line in your postings here, we won't hesitate to point out when your behavior is "beyond the pall" and we may even go so far as to delete your posts if we feel the need to.

Please be aware in considering what you may wish to say here that flamers, oafs and imbeciles will be banned without warning as will repeat offenders or those who start out behaving badly. This is a free society. But it is NOT a democracy. We won't censor you merely because we disagree with you; but we will do so if you act like a jerk or a social pariah. It's that simple. We promise to try as hard as we can to be tolerant; but our rule of thumb is that we do SHOOT bulls in our china shop first and ask questions later! :rolleyes:

Welcome to Steppin' Out New Mexico's Community Forums. We certainly hope you enjoy your time here!

Best Professional Regards,
