Carrizozo's Gallery 408& Studios on 12th Street host Ming Franz training


Carrizozo, NM -Ming Franz is well known in the Silicon Valley in California as a Chinese Brush, Splash Ink and Watercolor painter and teacher. Her innovative style of landscape painting that combines Chinese Splash Ink and Western Watercolor techniques brings out the best of the East and the West.

Her paintings have been accepted for many contests and exhibits and have won prizes from <img src=http://sonewmex.com/images/MingFranzfree_flowing_jpg align=left hspace=4>the Los Gatos Art Association and Triton Art Museum. Ming has been teaching Chinese Brush and Splash Ink painting at University Art Center, Hakone Garden, Triton Art Museum and the Villages.

Two of Ming's paintings were selected from the national competition of North Light Magazine and published in July 2006 with more to be published by July 2008.

Ming is currently writing an illustrated step-by-step Splash Ink painting book with co-author Dr. Barbara Gottesman. "Splash Ink With Watercolor"<img src=http://sonewmex.com/images/MingFranz1_web.jpg align=right hspace=4> Looking East, Painting West". The book was published in July 2007. An instructional DVD will be released at the same time.

Ming Franz currently lives in New Mexico. She will be teaching a three day "Chinese Brush Painting and Splash Ink Painting" workshop in Carrizozo, New Mexico at Gallery 408 & The Studios on Twelfth Street September 21, 22, and 23 from 9:00 am - 12:00 and 1:00 - 4:00 pm daily. The fee is $225.00 for the workshop. This is a great opportunity to learn from a great artist.
