Albuquerque, New Mexico - September 4: The New Mexico Special Orchestra will bring its vibrant music and dance to the Expo New Mexico Ford Pavilion on Thursday September 13th, at 4:30 pm.
Since 1999, the award winning ensemble has been helping children and adults with developmental disabilities, around the world, to share in the joy of making music. From being featured performers at the global <img src=http://sonewmex.com/images/sp049.jpg border=1 hspace=3 align=left>Special Olympics in Dublin, Ireland, to performing at the dedication of the New Mexico Rail Runner train, the group has delighted audiences using adaptive techniques developed here in the land of enchantment.
Founder and artistic director Gair Linhart of La Joya, leads the group in original compositions like Perfect Heaven and the New Mexico Waltz. Choreographer / dancer Azita Creighton leads the Special Orchestra Dance Troupe, which concludes the band’s stirring show.

NOTE: Musicians wishing to participate (space on the stage permitting) should be at the Ford pavilion tent at 3:45 p.m. Wear your Special Orchestra T Shirt! All are invited to come and support the group.
THE VALENCIA COUNTY CHAPTER will be having its regular music sessions this (our ninth) season at the Belen Rec. Center, 715-B South Main St., Belen, at 7:00 p.m., on the second Friday evening of each month.
THE ALBUQUERQUE CHAPTER will be holding its regular sessions this season at the Adelante El Centro Facility, 3900 Osuna NE, on the final Saturday of each month at 1:00 p.m.
