“Don’t miss this unique chance to hear great music and relax with food and drink under the stars,” said Park Manager Ken Abalos. “The music always sounds better when you hear it in the beautiful setting of a New Mexico state park.”

<img src=http://sonewmex.com/images/cityofrocks1.jpg align=left border=1 hspace=3>Ska/garage-band “Liquid Cheese” from El Paso will headline the show. Liquid Cheese has a strong following from a number of southwestern states including California, Arizona, and Colorado, and has performed nearly 1,000 shows since 1996. Another scheduled band, BPM, delivers a hybrid mix of reggae and ska-based rock.

The “ska” music style derives from Jamaican music of the late 1950’s, and combines elements of traditional calypso with an American jazz and rhythm and blues sound.

The concert begins at 5:00 p.m. and is sponsored by the New Mexico State Parks Foundation. Ticket prices are $15 per person, which includes the day-use admission and the concert. Camping is an additional $5 per vehicle.
