A Watercolor Painting Workshop
10:30am – 4pm

Petroglyph National Monument is pleased to offer this watercolor class instructed by Lisa Coddington. A member of the Society for Botanical Artist’s, Lisa has instructed workshops nationwide for six years and has also taught special botanical workshops for the last three years in Santa Fe.

Her childhood visits to formal topiary gardens and sifting through fall harvest color served as a wellspring for the whimsical and fine botanical paintings she produces today. Autumn is the theme of this watercolor class. Lisa will focus her instruction on painting leaves, fruits, and vegetables associated with the autumn season.

If you have been waiting to start painting or you are interested in
reviewing technique, this beginners/intermediate painting class introduces watercolor glazing techniques which Renaissance artists used to create their detailed botanical and animal illustrations. Subject selection, lighting, drawing, color mixing, and painting technique will be taught and also demonstrated. Interested individuals are encouraged to view Lisa’s website at www.lisacoddington.com for examples of her work.

Drawing experience is necessary. Workshop is limited to six participants. Cost of $80 per person includes supplies and materials. Advanced registration is required for this workshop. Call 505-899-0205 ext. 332 to register.
