Música Antigua de Albuquerque will perform "Italia Mia," a concert of medieval and Renaissance music from Italy, with voices and early instruments. The group will perform works by Francesco Landini, the greatest of the composers of the Trecento (14th century), as well as music by his contemporaries Jacopo da Bologna, Giovanni da Firenze, Antonello de Caserta, Andreas de Florentia, Johannes Ciconia and other anonymous composers. Works from the Renaissance will include madrigals and canzone by Luca Marenzio, Carlo Gesualdo, Rossino Mantovano, Giovanni Gastoldi, and others.

The title of the concert comes from Philippe Verdelot's famous Italia mia, bench'el parlar', based on a poem by Petrarch, who probably wrote it during the siege of Parma in 1344/5. Performers will include Hovey Dean Corbin, Jr., Sheldon Kalberg, MaryAnn Shore, Dennis Davies-Wilson, and Art and Colleen Sheinberg.
