• Flying J Wranglers' Christmas, 8 p.m. Thurs Dec. 4 ($28)
Lincoln County’s favorite ensemble performing new and classical western/cowboy Christmas songs, instrumentals and homespun comedy. Last in the Spencer spotlights in 2006, the Alto-based western music quintet is raring to share their magic in a new holiday show that includes traditional and popular holiday tunes like Go Tell It On The Mountain and Beautiful City; old time cowboy Christmas tunes like Corn, Water and Wood, The Gift and The Pot Bellied Stove, the beautiful ballads Virgen María and Mary Did You Know? and rich landscape tunes like White Mountain Christmas and Riding to Ruidoso. Rounding off the night’s repertoire will be the crisp and sizzling hot western instrumentals and homespun Flying J Wrangler hilarity for which they have long won acclaim.
• A Celtic Yuletide with Michael Londra, 8 p.m. Sun, Dec. 7 ($49 & $46)
Famed tenor Michael Londra (Riverdance on Broadway) and the world rhythms of his musical ensemble An Dóchas fuse traditional Celtic airs with original compositions in this special hokiday concert.
Londra’s uplifting vocals, described “as pure as a crystalline stream” by The Houston Chronicle, will be beautifully complimented in this special holiday concert by An Dóchas driving rhythms. The hot Celtic band performs on traditional instruments like the uilleann pipes, whistles and bodhran, as well as guitars, drums, percussion, banjo and fiddle. And adding to the night’s magic is the extraordinary step-dancing of the Harlan Irish Dancers!
The Nutcracker, 2 p.m. & 7 p.m. Sat Dec 20 ($25)
Ruidoso Dance Ensemble’s original adaptation of Tchaikovsky’s Christmas classic featuring gorgeous sets & costumes and outstanding student & professional dancers.
Coming in January:
• Nunsense with Sally Struthers, 8 p.m. Mon Jan 12 ($69 & $66)
Side-splitting comedy starring the two-time winning actress Sally Struthers in a tale about a variety show fundraiser featuring a Hoboken convent full of kooky nuns who need to raise money for the burial of folks their cook accidentally poisoned. Featuring a cast of singers, dancers and musicians with Guertman & Murtha of New York.
• Pajama Game, 8 p.m. Mon Jan 26 ($69 & $66)
A fast paced, Tony Award-winning frisky tale about a feisty employee and her bossy boss who get caught up in a heated affair. Featuring a cast of singers, dancers & musicians with Phoenix Entertainment and a high-energy score with hits like Hey There, Steam Heat and Hernando’s Hideaway.
