Socorro, NM - Nov. 16, '08 -- Steppin' Out received an almost unbelievable news report today from the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs announcing that Michelangelo's world famous sculpture "David" will be returning to Italy from Santa Fe in December -- a few months earlier than originally expected. Concurrent with the report, the governor's office allegedly issued a "Letter of Apology" to the Italian government for what the letter described as "unanticipated side effects" of the statue's trip to America.
According to the DCA, the 900 year old Renaissance-era sculpture will be making the return trip to Italy aboard a whaling vessel. The reasons for the unusual travel arrangements were evident from the report.

DCA made it a point to thank the sponsors of David's American Exhibition...

Steppin' Out has been trying to confirm the report. However, so far, no one from DCA has returned our calls. :p
It's a joke... So help us, we're almost certain it's only a joke! Still, when we spotted this report in our inbound email it made us laugh so hard we had to share it with you! We hope it makes you smile too. :D
