Valentine's Day Group Vow Renewal
highlights day and evening of events in T or C
Truth or Consequences, N.M. – Looking for something different to do on Valentine's Day this year? Are you and your partner still in love and want to renew your vows?
T or C's first GROUP Vow Renewal and Wedding Ceremonies will be held on Saturday, Feb. 14 with the Rio Grande River as the beautiful backdrop for your re-commitment to love.
The gazebo at Ralph Edwards Park, located on the banks of the Rio Grande River in downtown T or C, will be festively decorated in a Valentine's Day theme, and there will be live music and a decorated Wedding Arch for the ceremonies.
At 1 p.m., licensed wedding officiant and ULC Minister Celeste Rich will conduct a renewal of marriage vows for donations only. Suggested donations are $20-50/couple, but no one is keeping watch, so you can decide what (or even IF) you want to donate after the ceremony is completed, when you are picking up your complementary Keepsake Certificate of Vow Renewal and $10 Gift Certificate to Celestial Creations, which showcases the creations of New Mexico artists, artisans & companies.
Participants in the legal Wedding Ceremony will receive the same goodies for a nominal fee of $55 for couples who pre-register/pre-pay and $65 for those who 'just show up'. Couples wishing to get married must obtain a New Mexico Marriage License beforehand from any County Clerk's Office.
Select vendors will be offering bridal bouquets, chocolate-dipped strawberries, dark Belgium chocolates truffles, and hot dogs for your convenience.
In conjunction with the event, there will be a live concert/dance from 2-6 p.m. open to the public at the Senior Recreation Center on Foch St., with an admission charge of $10. Later that evening, you can attend the monthly Art Hop downtown from 6-9 p.m. Don't forget to schedule time to 'take the waters' while you're there; T or C is known for its 'healing' natural hot mineral waters, and there are 10 bath houses to choose from. Make a weekend of it!
