Silver City, NM - July 25, 2006: On Labor Day weekend (September 2nd & 3rd), the Big Ditch Art Fair will hold its twelfth annual event on both Saturday and Sunday in downtown Silver City, where one can feel lost in time among the many historic buildings. It's sponsored by San Vicente Artists and will be showing fine arts and fine crafts from all media in the shade of the cottonwood trees in Big Ditch Park.

Paintings, clay works, jewelry, woodwork, and mixed media by artists from all over (about 2/3 of whom are from outside the area) will be sold.
There will also be food vendors and events for children.
The Big Ditch was created by a raging rainstorm that washed out the former Main Street about a century ago.
Floods in following years caused the cottonwoods to grow, and farseeing city planners decided to turn it into a park with a picturesque tree canopy.
Artists wishing to sell their works or buyers and tourists should call Susan at (505) 388-1082 or Kathy at (505)534-9500 or visit www.silvercityartists.org (http://www.steppinoutnewmexico.com/forums/www.silvercityartists.org) for more information.

Overnight security for artists' works will be provided both Friday and Saturday nights. For non SVA members the price of a booth is $100 if one type of art is shown, or $120 if it is a booth shared by two types of artists -- such as a jeweler and a watercolorist.
So, those of you who are artists had better get moving. 'Cause time's a wastin' as they say. For everyone else... Go enjoy the Fair and the Fun!
