The co-sponsor for this year’s event is the Magdalena Arts Gallery, located at 602 First Street in Magdalena. Gregg, Lia Lynn Rosen, Harry Kroyer, Tom Mandeville, Mill Canyon Wool and Vanessa Quinones.
The juried show will feature artists working the such diverse media as: painting, fiber art, wood turning, pottery, bronzes, Native American art, carvings, glass, jewelry, etc.
Antiques and collectibles will also be available for purchase.
In addition to the Magdalena Art Gallery, representatives from the Artisans Coop in Albuquerque will display their Native American art. Among them will be Bonnie Jo Hunt (Wicahpi Win – Star Woman) Hunkpapa Lakota (Standing Rock Sioux Nation) operatic concert artist of international acclaim. Bonnie Jo’s cds will be for sale – and maybe she will sing and song or two – which will be quite a treat!

New participants for 2006 include Pat Basham, Jim McLain, Elaine J. Neal, Magdalena Arts Gallery, Artisans Co-op, Nancy Deas and Vern Deas. Vern Deas just completed a showing at the prestigious 45th annual New Mexico Arts & Crafts Fair.
All proceeds from the show will help fund APAS’s spay/neuter program to reduce the number of unwanted dogs and cats, puppies and kittens in Socorro County. APAS spends over $20,000 each year to provide financial assistance to residents unable to pay the full cost of the surgery for their companion animals. Funding for the "discount coupons" come from fundraising events such as this.
The Animal Protective Association of Socorro is a 501c3 all volunteer non-profit organization incorporated in 1968.
This is the perfect opportunity to shop for one of a kind gifts with prices to fit most budgets. Cards, prints and similar items will also be for sale. Remember: Guilt-free holiday shopping at this great event – Sept. 23 and 24 at the Garcia Opera House.
