Melodrama Theatre at the Piños Altos Opera House Presents:
"The Legend of Billy the Kid or... It's Just a Little Gun Play"
The Piños Altos Melodrama Theatre opens its 13th hillarious season with the “The Legend of Billy the Kid or...It’s Just a Little Gun Play.” This original rendition of Billy the Kid’s life is written and directed by company owner Sean O’Hare. As with all of O’Hare’s other works, this hysterical production is filled with fast-paced slapstick humor and plenty of opportunity for the audience to participate as they are encouraged to boo the villainous gunslingers, cheer the hero and throw popcorn to their heart’s delight.
The evening’s entertainment opens with a sing-along as audience members call out the number of their favorite song. This cabaret-style theatre, complete with full bar service, is housed in the historic Opera House in the quaint mountain town of Piños Altos. Located in the foothills of the Gila National Forest, this area is filled with controversial stories of Billy the Kid. This hysterically accurate depiction of the life and times of the notorious outlaw includes all of the legendary characters including Pat Garrett, Johnny Reno and Billie Barlow.
"Into every life a little popcorn must fall..."
When: Every Friday & Saturday 8:00 pm 'til hell freezes over or New Mexicans forget Billy the Kid, whichever comes last.
Reservations: Call (505) 388-3848
Directions: Piños Altos was formed as an early mining town in Grant County and still retains its historic feel and original architecture. To find it and the PA Opera House, take New Mexico Highway 15 just 7 miles from its intersection with Highway 180 in Silver City.
