FOURTH ANNUAL MEMBER SHOW OPENS NOVEMBER 1ST
Digital Fine Art Society of New Mexico
ALBUQUERQUE, NM -- November 1, 2005 -- The Digital Fine Art Society of New Mexico will hold its fourth annual group show, "Canvas In Digital", opening November 1st and continuing through November 30th at the Harwood Art Center, 1114 7th St. NW, in Albuquerque. The Exhibit Reception will be from 5:00 - 8:30 pm on Friday, November 18th, in conjunction with ArtsCrawl. Regular show hours are Monday through Friday 10 am-4 pm and by appointment.
The Digital Fine Arts Society of New Mexico (DFAS-NM) was founded in the spring of 2002 to share ideas and knowledge, to educate, and to promote the advancement of Digital Fine Art. As of October 2005, there are 75 members in 18 communities around New Mexico.
Digital Fine Art, printed with archival pigmented inks on archival papers and canvas, encompasses digital painting, digital photography and darkroom, and computer generated art. The computer allows the artist to mix and manipulate these techniques into exciting new
work. This work was considered "new media", but is quickly becoming mainstream.
