Post Farmington / Bloomfield: Angel Peak Ranch Plans BIG Christian Concert...

Bloomfield Ministry Prepares to Host BIG Concert

Here's the reason Angel Peak Ranch got its name.
Here's the reason Angel Peak Ranch got its name.

One of several windmills on Angel Peak RanchClick here for concert details or to order SpiritFest tickets.Bloomfield, NM: Here in the west we think big. Maybe that's because everything here is on the large side. Our states, skies, mountains, canyons... heck, even our valleys are all big. So it isn't a surprise that up in the Four Corners region -- not far from the world's biggest canyon, Angel Peak Ministries is thinking big too as they plan and prepare to host what may prove to be the biggest Christian Music Concert ever to take place in New Mexico. Angel Peak hopes to attract thousands of New Mexicans on Fathers Day, Sunday, June 15th, to a day-long outdoor concert they've named "SpiritFest – A Christ Centered Event".

"We'd like to attract as many Christian and non-Christian music lovers to SpiritFest as possible," explained event planner and promoter Mary Helene Sullivan. Sullivan is a founding member of Angel Peak Ministries. The Ministry, which incorporated in February, will kick off its presence in the Four Corners region with SpiritFest, a Father's Day open-air concert that will feature nine well-known Christian performers, bands and music groups from all parts of the U.S.

The gates will open at 11:30 a.m. The concert will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Angel Peak Ranch off County Road 4990 just south and west of Bloomfield.

To geologists Angel Peak is just a 40 million-year-old rock formation. Yet, it looks like a kneeling angel with a broken wing. The Navajo call it "dwelling place of the sacred ones".

The groups and singers who will perform at SpiritFest include Mercy Me, The Afters, Dr. Dennis Swanberg, Bibleman, Bethany Dillon, Daniel Rodriguez and Marla Kavanaugh, Trilby Michel, Paradigm and Loruss.

Tickets are $35 for adults and $15 for kids age 6-12. Children under 6 are admitted free.

"If you're a church, interested in offering (selling) tickets to your congregation, Angel Peak Ministries is prepared to tithe 10 percent of your ticket sales directly to your church," Sullivan explained.

The ranch where the concert will be held is the place Mary Helene calls home.
The concert will be held on the ranch Mary Helene calls home.

Promoting this event is a first for Sullivan, a lifelong rancher. In fact, the concert will be held on the ranch Mary Helene calls home. She said after they came up with the concert idea, the ministry made a few phone calls to try to book musicians and "that was like throwing a loop and finding yourself tied hard and fast to something a whole lot bigger than anything you had any idea was even OUT there. The Lord just took off with the whole thing and we've been just holding on--barely holding on ever since!" she smiled.

One thing is sure. No matter how many concert goers they attract to Angel Peak Ranch on Fathers Day, it’s almost certain they won’t run out of (bring-your-own) seating-space. Angel Peak Ranch covers enough acres to accommodate over a dozen Woodstock Festivals. Woodstock attracted 500,000. Fortunately, there aren’t 6,000,000 potential concert goers within a reasonable driving distance of Bloomfield.

The ministry is hopeful and excited to make a go of it with this first-ever concert. Their goal is to "invite believers of all faiths to come together, put aside our differences and work together to: reunite hurting and displaced Christians with Godly fellowship, focus on shared values and move toward what truly unites us — our love of the Lord Jesus Christ," Sullivan concluded.

For more details about the concert, read this article. To order tickets for SpiritFest, visit www.AngelPeakMinistries.com or call, (505) 632-2081 or (866) 433-2643.
