Sometimes the mysteries of life take a long time to unfold.  Today, I found out about the dishwasher. 
 
I've lived in Hawaii, about 10 miles as the crow flies from Mt. Waialeale, where heavy rain is something that's taken for granted.  I've sailed across the Pacific and been in the close proximity of water spouts and spent quite a few years in Oregon where people joke about having web feet from the rain, but I've never seen one point one inches...]]></description>
