The Great Southwestern Antique Show's new Spring Antique Show and Charity Appraise-A-Thon is this weekend. The event at Expo New Mexico will benefit the ATADA Scholarship fund and Very Special Arts.
Along with shopping a beautiful Antique show with artifacts from around the world, show attendees are invited to bring 2 items to be appraised for a $25.00 donation.
We have 5 appraisers taking part in this event including 3 of your favorites from the Antiques Roadshow, Joan Caballero specializing in New Mexican antiques, Native American jewelry & paintings: Doug Diehl, Native American & Ethnographic Art specialist Skinners Auction, Boston, MA. and Bruce Shackelford specializing in Western Historical material & consultant to the Witte Museum, San Antonio, Texas, as well as Susan Tarman of Santa Fe specializing in fine art & antiques & Heidi Becker of Eugene OR specializing in estate jewelry, folk & fine art and Native American material.
The Great Southwestern Shows have donated over $60,000.00 benefiting education & the arts over the past five years and looks forward to having ATADA as one of our beneficiaries.
Show hours are from 9am to 5pm on Saturday May 16th w/ appraisal appointments scheduled between 12:00p.m. and 4:00p.m. the show reopens on Sunday May 17th from 9am to 4pm with appraisals scheduled between 12:00p.m. and 3:00p.m.. A Sneak Preview opening takes place on Friday May 15th from 2pm to 6p.m. General admission $8.00/day or $12.00 2-day pass; Sneak Preview admission is $50.00
