and Bosque del Apache Refuge
- In
Socorro, the Festival of the Cranes Crafts Fair features additional arts
and crafts from artists around the region. Special tours and open houses
in the historic district of Socorro also are planned. Call the Socorro
Chamber of Commerce for additional information about Socorro's Open House
on Friday. The
Village of Magdalena also hosts its own Fall Festival of Art featuring
artists and artisans from the high country. A
concert by the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, a dinner theater, the annual
Friends of the Bosque banquet, and the state Duck Calling Contest
complement the week of events. The
festival is presented by the Friends of the Bosque del Apache National
Wildlife Refuge. Sponsors include the City of Socorro, the Socorro County
Chamber of Commerce, New Mexico Tech, Eagle Optics and the refuge itself. For
