Carrizozo - Gallery 408 hosts the first of its summer series Music in the Garden on Saturday, June 2 from 7-9 pm with Cindy and John Fogelson. The couple play children's music and the evening will also feature an art show.
The free summer concert series is in the garden of Gallery 408 on 12th street and offers an informal gathering with live music by regional musicians.. The event is free with free-will offerings to the musicians.
The series continues on July 7 with David Elsey and Larry Williams playing Western Rock and Original Folk musc.
On Aug. 4, Gari Linhart, SONewMex.com's own poet, will offer lyrical portraits of New Mexico in his concert. Elliot Topper plays improvisational Music on Sept. 8 and the season ends with Michael Sinkovitz, guitar ballads on Oct. 6
Don't forget to enjoy the new exhibit in the Gallery. Rod Fiddler's brightly painted abstracts hang in an exhibition titled Paint Works from June 9 - July 3. A reception for the artist is set for June 9 from 6-8 pm.
The gallery also is sponsoring summer workshops: Artist in Residence Judy Corlett will teach a two[-day collage workshop starting June 12; Louise Groethe offers a two-day basket weaving workshop on June 17-18 and on June 23-24, Linda Manion will teach portrait drawing.
