Madrid – It’s a magical time in Madrid where First Saturdays are always featured. On Saturday, Dec. 6, Madrid rolls out its special holiday show, this first of three weekends of art, special events and lights, lights, lights.
Johnsons of Madrid Galleries of Fine and Fiber Art continues its tradition of First Saturday receptions and music and the entire town of Madrid joins in an Open House with street entertainment, stage coach rides, a parade at 4 pm and of course Santa.
Johnsons of Madrid Galleries in December features “Wearables & Wallables” by gallery fiber artists and members of Studio Art Quilt Associates and New Mexico Silk Painters’ Guild: painted silks, quilts, batiks, tapestries & other hand weavings, etc. in the HUGE entry gallery; “bl/w photographs”, featuring Sam Adams ,David Noble, Ford Robbins and others; “drawings”, featuring Chuck Dunbar/Edna Casman and others; “mixed media”, featuring Maureen Howles, Carolyn Pedersen and others; “gallery sculptors” in all the above exhibition galleries.
Plus, always Mel Johnson’s studio & gallery of his paintings and Diana Johnson’s studio & 50 fiber artist’s gallery and in the Entry Garden: sculpture by Ed Larson & Jenette Olive.
