This is the third issue in which Steppin Out has offered downloadable, viewable, and printable copies of our paper edition pages for those who can't find us in their local library, bookstore, gallery or restaurant, but prefer to take our paper with them rather than to lug a computer around.
To meet this need, we have two delivery options. We put images of our paper edition pages online where you can either download and read each page, page as a separate Adobe Acrobat PDF file. That means you can click any image (or the words below it) in the table below to download, read and/or print a copy of that page of our current edition. With Adobe reader, you can even scale our pages to fit the paper in your printer!
This technique is fairly fast -- even for dial-up users -- requiring about 45 seconds per page for visitors with dial-up connections and just a few seconds per page for those with broadband connections. For that reason, we believe the page-by-page approach should work well for just about everyone. For those with broadband / DSL connections or for dialup users with a little patience, we offer a second option which contains all pages of our paper edition in one big file (see our all-in-one icon below the table). But the download time for our all-pages-in-one-file print solution will be about 8 times as long as for a single page. So, that solution may be too slow for many dial-up users. We estimate the time required to download our all-in-on version of the current issue for those with 56k dialup connections is about 7 minutes. Double that if your connection speed is 28k or less.
You'll need the Adobe reader installed on your PC to make this work. If you don't have this free software, you can download it from Adobe's site here:
Please be patient when downloading our pages. On a dial-up line, most pages will take less than 2 minutes to download and print. Here's our page-by-page table. The all-in-one option appears below it.
Finally, those with high-speed connections can click the image below to download our all-in-one file and save it on your desktop. Once it's there, you can read it, search it or print it as easy as 1-2-3!
(** The only page you won't be able to print this way is our popular Mr. Squiggly coloring page. The artist for that page asked us to make her copyrighted cartoons unprintable. Naturally, we have honored that request! To obtain copies of Mr Squiggly and other beautiful color-it-yourself images, please visit Prism Light Studio's site at: www.MrSquiggly.com)
